A Great Start

The Opening Ceremonies for the 2010 Olympic Games was a spectacular show. Each component of the show was choreographed to perfection. My favorite part of the show was the Aboriginal piece, it was amazing. It was great that VANOC had joined with the Aboriginal people of BC. It made Vancouver's opening ceremonies so unique. Another great part of the show was the mountain and the snowboards and skiers. It was a creative way to incorporate snow in an closed stadium.
The show was great, there was five final torch bearers! Wayne Gretzky, Steve Nash, Nancy Greene, Rick Hansen and Catriona Le May Dean. Unfortunately one of the four pillars of the cauldron was not coming up. It look a little silly at first but all in all it was a magically night. Wayne Gretzy then went down to Waterfront to light the outside cauldron which was breath taking!
